Time for another expensive upgrade

I tried to withstand both of these for a very long time, but in the end I have to admit… I was weak.

Expert Sleepers Super Disting EX alpha

the swiss army knife of all Eurorack modules
the manual alone (one manual references another) is like 1000 pages similiar to an F-18 in DCS 😀

Oxi One Sequencer

a 4 to 16 channel, late night bedroom and on tour friendly sequencer with trigger and modulation capability

Oxi Pipe

more or less this is just a jack multiplexer, and they use a single HDMI cable for that 😀

Mixing inside Eurorack

I finally gave up on mixing externally or via my mac, instead I will try to put a complete mixing console, including FX sends into my eurorack.

This will definitely upgrade live performances.

After Later Audio Bartender

the main mixer module with 4 channels and output + cueing

After Later Audio Barback

and this one, I bought twice for 4 more extra channels

Next modules for my Eurorack

Divkid Ochd Expander

some more modulation outputs derived from the Ochd module, the musicstore will get rich with me as a customer 😀

Doepfer A-124 Wasp Filter Special Edition

hell yeah, I really like this filter an absolute beast, still thinking about buying the deluxe version

Doepfer A-151 Quad Sequential Switch Vintage Edition

hopefully this module will bring some automated chnages for my voice selection

Doepfer A-180-2V Multiple Vintage Edition

you can never have enough multiples, right ?

a few more eurorack additions

Another week of OnCall passed, time to invest the extra money into some more eurorack modules….

Squarp Hermod+

not using the sequencer functionality right now, for me it is more or less a 8/8 channel USB bridge from my Akai Force

Expert Sleepers ES-9

I use this one to connect to VCV Rack and have DC coupled modulation going from my mac to the eurorack

Instruo EAS

yes probably the most expensive logic module, but I had the money…. 😉

Eurorack – Blade Runner Vibes

Blade Runner Vibes – on Modular Synth

Since I’m a big fan of the old and the new BladeRunner movies, I simply had to do this tribute synth patch. Please enjoy and re-watch the movies.

The Blade Runner style melody pattern is randomly advanced by Qu-Bit’s Bloom fractal sequencer. No pre-recorded melody here.
Bard Quartet arpeggiator plays the bassline on Brains.
A rainy soundscape is generated by Ensemble Oscillator waveshaped into pink noise, which is then delayed and processed in Nautlius.
Mixed together with some random envelopes triggering an VCA to form kind of raindrop sounds impacting from time to time.

Typhoon, FX Aid and Milky Way shift all sound layers into an appropriate atmosphere using long delay reverbs.
Fractal sequencer – Qu-Bit Bloom Voices – Bastl Pizza (main synth) / Behringer Brains (bass) / 4ms Ensemble Oscillator (rainy noise) Modulation – Behringer Chaos (Marbles) for clock and random filter CV Filter – Bastl Cinnamon EG – XAOC Zadar with slowly randomized envelopes ARP – Shakmat Bard Quartet VCA – Behringer Four Play FX – Qu-Bit Nautilus (De-Shimmer Cascade) / Endorphines Milky Way (Tape Echo) / After Later Audio Typhoon (Spectral Clouds) / Happy Nerding FX Aid (Delay Magneto)
Mix – Endorphines Cockpit Samples – 2HP Play with a sample Remix FX Vocal Warp FX 03 from Apple Jam Pack 2: Remix Tools (pitched up and mixed into rain noise)

Audio recorded from my #eurorack synthesizer and video recorded via iPhone combined in Final Cut Pro in HDR.

Eurorack – again

still searching for more self-generating melodic patterns….

Vermona Melodicer

this one is a great probabilistic pattern sequencer, it is so easy to enrich patterns with more notes, and come back to more sparse notes or completely blend into different base chords

After Later Audio Fuse

yet another Mutable Instruments clone of Warps, but with an updated Parasites firmware with many more new modes

Eurorack power up issues

Spent the whole weekend reorganizing my eurorack modules, but I still have powerup issues for some modules, so I decided to buy one more WMD softstart adapter. Hopefully this will help, otherwise I need another expensive power supply.

WMD Softstart

delays the power on current flow for a “low energy module” so that the bigger ones can get the startup juice first 😉

And of course I could not resist to get some extras….

DPW Design SW-1

the module version of my self mode simple A/B switch boxes, much more convenient, I use them a lot

Erica Synths Pico Input

always good to fill some tiny gaps with useful modules…. this one allows for quick audio input from various sources shifted to eurorack levels
