My proxmox cluster just got a serious upgrade, adding 3 more AsRock 4×4 4800u nodes.
And I did not yet remove the old CI323 nodes, thus the overall capacity in the cluster is currently:
16 cores at 1.6-2.08GHz
16 cores at 0.4-4.2GHz
320GB RAM
12GB SSD
20TB NAS / NFS / S3

AsRock 4×4 Box-4800u mini PC
Decided to try the new Asrock 4×4 Box 4800u mini PC, as a replacement in my ProxMox Cluster.
And WOW ! what a platform.
The Ryzen 7 4800u runs at max 4.2GHz, but I use it in powersave mode anyway. TDP is 15Watts only
I use it with 64GB of RAM and an internal 1TB M2.SSD WD SN550, and a spare SSD 500GB I had flying around
Thus my Proxmox got a serious power upgrade. Looking forward to replace my old CI323 nodes soon, currently I run on 5 nodes in Proxmox,
making the reaction time of my kubernetes nodes much much faster.
Zotac CI323 nano
Just bought 4 Zotac CI323 nano’s to set up a low energy proxmox cluster.
With only 12x12cm those machines are tiny, and they only require 7 watts.
Inside I do use 16GB RAM (officially 8GB only, but it works with low powere RAM) and with a 500GB SSD from Samsung.
Thus the Proxmox cluster has 16 cores at 1.6 to 2.08GHz and 64GB of RAM, with overall around 50Watts, when using the powersave governor in Linux.
also bought two more Odroid-C3’s
